Unconditional offer scheme

If you make Winchester your first choice, we may be able to make you an unconditional offer depending on your results to date and your predicted grades. Once we receive your application from UCAS, our Admissions team will carefully review it, looking at your grades as well as your commitment to learning in your personal statement. We will get in touch with you within four working days to let you know about your offer and whether you are eligible for an unconditional offer.

If you achieve particularly good grades, you may also receive our Highfliers Achievement Award of up to £600 and be invited to join the Highflier Scholars’ Scheme. Awards and Bursaries available to you

At Winchester, we offer a wide range of scholarships, bursaries and awards for students joining us in September. These will provide you with financial support based on your academic achievements, personal circumstances and household income and you may be eligible for up to £3,100 of additional financial support over the course of a three year degree at Winchester.

These include: 

  • Income-based bursary of up to £2,000
  • Winchester Employability Fund of up to £500 a year
  • Highfliers Academic Achievement Award of up to £600
  • Music and Sports Excellence Award of up to £1,500
  • 'Try It' Awards of up fo £500

Our accommodation guarantee

Once you make Winchester your firm choice, you can start thinking about where you would like to live. We have a range of outstanding and great value accommodation at Winchester for you to pick from. We'll also guarantee* you a room in University Managed Accommodation (on-campus and off-campus) to all first year full-time undergraduates whose housing application is received by 31 May 2018.

Win Your Halls

If you make Winchester your first choice and apply to on-campus housing by 31st March 2018 you will be entered into a draw to win your first year of accommodation for free! The prize draw is open to all undergraduate applicants for 2018 entry who go firm and apply for accommodation by 31st March 2018. The winner will be picked at random.

How to apply for full-time undergraduate study

UCAS is the place to go to make your application to Winchester. All you need to do is complete the online application form available from the UCAS website.

If you are at a UK school or college, they will be registered with UCAS to manage your application. Ask your school careers advisor or visit the UCAS website for more information.

Not at school or college?

If you are not at school or college you can simply apply online independently at UCAS. Details of how to do this can be found on the UCAS website.

Want to study part-time?

You can do many of our courses on a part-time basis. If you would like to find out about applying for part-time study, please get in touch with our Admissions Team by calling +44 (0) 1962 827234 or sending us a message. You will be able to apply directly to us using the Undergraduate direct entry form.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL – formerly known as AP[E]L)

If you wish to apply for advanced standing (exemption from part of a programme) based on previous study and/or experiential learning, you may apply for RPL. Please note that any credits or marks gained from previous study shall not be counted in your final result as your award is calculated solely on the credits and marks accumulated while registered at the University of Winchester.
